The Almero Holdings closely-knit team is supported by a wealth of non-executive experience totalling over 100 years. Each member brings to the fore a unique set of expertise which amalgamates to cover the key requirements of a business within the property industry.

Louis Steyn

CEO
Louis has been involved in a number of start up ventures in South Africa and the United Kingdom. Louis started Almero Holdings UK Ltd in 2013 after realizing that there was an opening for luxury student accommodation at an affordable price point. Louis has since been involved in building the vision of the US entity and shaping the group from a global perspective.

TJ Steyn

CEO
TJ has been involved in South African real estate and hospitality for the last 8 years. With a close eye on the family run real estate portfolio which includes a hotel, significant urban development both in Johannesburg CBD and the Northern Suburbs, TJ has experience in ground-up and change-of-use development.

Anthony Franks

Commercial Director
Anthony joined Louis a few months after inception, working side by side to get the portfolio off the ground and has been responsible for the day to day operations and commercial activities since January 2015 as well as the US Steyn Capital group since mid-2016.

Pietie Olivier

Head of Finance
Pietie is responsible for the financing and reporting responsibilities of the group and assists with strategic private equity investments. He is actively involved in managing and growing the UK portfolio. He also oversees the group's expansion strategy into the European student, PRS and Co-living markets. Prior to joining Almero, Pietie worked at a London-based Real Estate Investment Management company where he provided underwriting, financing and transaction support to teams in the UK, Europe and the USA. Pietie also worked in a South African Corporate Finance team where he performed due diligence and valuation assignments across a number of sectors within Southern African markets.

Graham Corder

Head of Development
After completing his undergraduate studies in South Africa Graham had a stint in the financial services sector before coming to the UK and completing 4 years service in the UK armed forces. He then joined Almero in 2016 to help manage and refine the construction process for the ever growing student portfolio. At this time he also started an MSc in quantity surveying, which he has now completed. Graham is director of Almero Construction, facilitating the student portfolio's growth. He is also heading up the group's entry in the London residential market by working with key developers and building a robust team to ensure the delivery of quality assets.

Alice Conway

Student Strategy
Alice joined Almero in 2016 having graduated from Newcastle University with a BA in Geography, she has continued her studies at South Bank University where she is studying for a master’s in real estate. Alice has been key to implementing Almero’s goal of becoming a 100% vertically integrated student brand. This has allowed her to gain experience in the acquisitions, management and leasing of our student assets.

Michael Haverty

Acquisitions and Investment
Michael joined Almero in 2017 having graduated from the University of Reading with a MSc in Real Estate. Michael’s primary focus is on the acquisitions side of the business particularly asset sourcing, investment modelling and research. He has so far helped acquire several assets throughout the UK ranging from student accommodation to residential development sites.

Isabella Hodson

Property Manager
Isabella joined the Almero team in the summer of 2018, following previous experience in corporate agency. She has extensive experience managing large residential portfolios mainly in London. Isabella now oversees the management of Almero’s HMO portfolio nationally, ensuring its smooth running and upkeep.

Karen Iles

Property Manager
Karen joined the ranks in 2016 fast becoming an invaluable team member, based in Bristol, she manages our purpose built student accommodation portfolio. Karen is P.G.C.E & T.E.F.L certified with over 20 years of teaching experience and working with young adults has primed her for looking after and dealing with our Student residents. A true Bristolian, having taught domestically and internationally she has a wealth of local knowledge to help advise tenants with adjusting to, and enjoying life in Bristol.

James Willmott

Quantity Surveyor
James studied in South Africa completing an undergrad in Construction Management and a masters degree in Quantity Surveying. He has been working in the industry for the past thirteen years, twelve of which have been spent in South Africa working on an array of different projects. James joined at the start of 2019, assisting Graham Corder in running the construction processes and building out Almero's student portfolio. James is also starting his RICS and hopes to receive his accreditation in the near future.

Gemma Maalwi

Accounts Administration
Gemma joined the Almero team in 2019, after 5 years accounts experience within the corporate agency sector. She has hands on experience managing large portfolios in London, covering the rent and credit control divisions. Gemma now manages all Almero's HMO and PBSA portfolios ensuring the validity and reconciliations of the accounts.

Keziah Prempeh

Tenancy Progression and Marketing
Keziah Joined the Almero team in January 2019, having worked in both the residential and commercial sector she has a wealth of property knowledge. She ensures the smooth running of the tenancy process and also assist with Almero Mansions marketing. Keziah recently started a marketing diploma to gain more knowledge to apply to the business.
